About Katie B Bakes
The Katie B. that’s baking in Pittsboro is Katie Bennett, a graduate of the Natural Chef Sustainable Culinary program at CCCC. She started her baking business in 2012 at CCCC’s Culinary Incubator and then moved to Angelina’s Kitchen at the beginning of 2014.
Katie began baking at the age of 11 when she surprised her parents with scratch brownies made from a recipe she saw on a box of cocoa. She has been wowing her family and friends ever since with flaky pie crusts, southern style cornbread and a variety of delicious cakes, cookies, crisps and cobblers.
Thanks to her training with innovative chefs at CCCC, Katie has been able to translate most of her favorite desserts into gluten free versions without sacrificing taste or texture. Though not prepared in a gluten free kitchen, her sweet treats made with gluten alternative ingredients are just the thing for folks who are intolerant to gluten. Dairy free options of many items are also available upon request.
