The kitchen smells like turmeric and curry!! Maria and I have been snacking on curried chicken for breakfast and think we have a winner : ) In the meantime Chicle Shack John is on a mission to cook something personal and special for Nick. The kitchen couldn;t smell any better. Anyone wishing to celebrate Nick Meyer’s life is invited to St. Bartholomew church this Saturday. The memorial service starts at 4p and a reception with plenty of food will start just afterwards. Bring some beer and join us in toasting a wonderful member of our community that we already miss.

A big Shout Out to CFSA and huge thanks to the Department of Health and Human Services – working together these guys have saved our beautiful local leafy greens from becoming too expensive for our pocketbooks. It would take too long to explain how – just trust me … if it weren’t for CFSA and their hard work and for the Health Department being equitable our small local farms and restaurants like Angelina’s Kitchen would find cut leafy greens prohibitively expensive. So get out you pocketbooks and donate at least a few bucks and keep CFSA in the green : )

Our community suffered a loss on Tuesday evening – our wonderful friend Nick Meyer. Nick was brilliant, loved to hang out with folks, loved to feed anyone who was hungry, always lent a helping hand to anyone in need. He spent a fair amount of time in our shop – always a smile on his face – always some interesting topic at hand – always a spare few $$ for a farm hand dropping off food – always the first to volunteer for any of Angelina’s Kitchens community ventures. Safe journey dear friend. Travel with a smile knowing you are loved by this community and are dearly missed by many of us. (including me <3)
