it’s baaaccckkkkkkk!! moussaka! thanks to Screech Owl and his now famous side gardens, we have the most lovely fairy eggplant. The first eggplant dish of the season will be our moussaka. I wasn’t able to score mushrooms for this batch – but I have all the feelers out for shrooms and will be making a vegetarian moussaka next. also on tap? fresh fennel from Daryl and Bill Dow – leeks out the wazoo from Judy Hogan – fresh zucchini blossoms from Edible Earthscapes – Katie’s (Bennett Farming) fresh batch of key lime pies, GF lemon pound cakes and a NY style cheesecake featuring eggs from Bluebird Hill Farms (the lavender farm!) – the lovely Esta and her side kick Murray (Cohen Farms) coming by to get compost for the pigs they raise for us to serve you. This community ROCKS!!! so many ways our little food system works together to produce unbelievable food with a mindful footprint on earth.

Moussaka (greek Eggplant casserole) – our first eggplant of the season from Screech Owl roasted and topped with a layer of Smith Angus ground beef and the topped with a decadent bechamel. Not to toot my own horn, but I do come from the part of greece known for the absolute best moussaka (xania, crete). If you know this dish, you’ll love this version – if you’re new to moussaka .. you’re in for a treat! $9 add a side salad $3
Cohen Farm Pork Roast on grilled Pita – enjoy the cleanest pork of the land : ) Murray and Esta rasie the heathiest pigs around and the flavor of this meat reflects the care and attention to these animals. $8
