Another excellent day at our Pittsboro Farmer’s market yesterday. Of course I had to contend with the 1st place Baklava contest winner, Muriel of Ruby’s Recipes. All I can say is I cannot wait till next year’s contest!!! Everyone be sure to patronize our fabulous farmer’s market. For our kitchen we scored more eggplant, green chiles, some late season field tomatoes and some tiny tasty apples from Jeffrey at Green Dreams. Of course we also scored some local beef and for Monday we’re getting into some local pork! yes, we now have access to humanely raised piggys, bacon, sausage, pork loins, pork bellies. John couldnt be more excited!!
