It’s EAT A RAINBOW WEEK !!

Join Chatham County Health Department and our public school students in celebrating Eat A Rainbow Every Day !  We are proudly displaying beautiful artwork depicting the rainbow of foods available to us – the art was created by the students of Perry Harrison Elementary School and deserves your time : )  Today the color is red!  Come enjoy some string beans with RED tomatoes straight from Screech Owl Greenhouse.  We also have purple (kinda red) sweet potatoes in the string beans, tomatoes in the salads and as a sandwich topping.  Red all over the place !

My favorite sign of spring is a pot of oregano Colleen Kendrick gave us as a gift 2 years ago.   That little pot goes through the seasons and after the winter looks a little rough – almost like you’re sure it’s died … and then the spring sun and rain bring those beautiful little green leaves and all is good : )  Thank you Colleen for the gift that keeps on giving and giving !
