Welcome to another excellent week in lovely historic downtown Pittsboro.  October 1st Sunday was a big hit, lots of great vendors and CORA foodbank fundraiser, EMPTY BOWLS.  Thanks to everyone who supported CORA by purchasing an empty bowl.  In case you missed the fundraiser  just go to their office or website and support this worthy cause.  http://www.corafoodpantry.org/   Alan Russo was one of the 1st Sunday vendors, showing off his beautiful woodworking, some amazing christmas ornaments and beautiful bowls.  Keep an eye out for this man’s lovely, sustainable art.  More importantly , keep an eye out for the delicious soups he’ll be making here at the shop !

French Lentil Soup – french lentils cooked vegetarian with cubed carrots, a little celery and a touch of tomato – plus lots of garlic ! ($3)

Greek Chicken Soup (Avgolemono) – homemade chicken broth and orzo soup finished with local eggs and fresh lemon juice. ($3)

Green Chile Beef Stew – another batch of John’s now famous green chile stew to warm you up.  Local beef, local chiles, organic veggies and local silver corn. ($4)

Roasted Leg of Lamb Sandwich – enjoy some lamb in a pita sandwich with your choice of 3 toppings ! ($8)

Yogurt Marinated Chicken Breasts – Yogurt marinade on boneless chicken breasts grilled and then wrapped in a pita with your choice of 3 toppings. ($6)

later today we are working on swiss chard that Will delivered this am … and arugula we got from Piedmont Biofarm.  stay tuned for what Josie and I decided to do with it : )
