I just got an email with pictures from my sister Nikki up in Arlington, VA and they have been walloped and are still getting hit!  22″ currently on the ground with another 12-20″ expected through today.  In all my years growing up in va I don’t recall this kinda snowmaggedon.  Can you imagine what would happen here with that kinda snow?  we had a measly 6″ last weekend and seems liked we closed down for 4 – 5 days.  So anyone thinking they aren’t coming to our lovely shops here in Pittsboro due to a little rain – get over yourselves and get on down here!  Our kitchen smells spectacular this morning – swiss chard cheesy bake in the oven – fresh collards and sweet potatoes Ang style – soups soups soups and of course a little frito pie mix left from yesterday (it’s way better today!).

John’s Famous Frito Pie – this time John is mixing Cohen ground beef with circleAcres chorizo and of course a good dose of Piedmont Biofarm green chiles. All this served on a bed of fritos with your choice of cheese and onions on top ($6.50)

Butternut Squash Green Chile Soup – a vegetable broth and ECO Cottle farm butternut squash spiked with Piedmont Biofarm green chile – vegan unless served with yogurt upon request. ($3)

Greek Chicken Soup (Avgolemono) - our homemade chicken broth and orzo soup fiished with fresh lemon juice and local lemons ($3)

Green Chile Beef Stew – Smith Angus Farm  stew beef with lots of veggies, homemade beef broth and Piedmont Biofarm and NM green chiles ($4) GF

Swiss Chard Cheesy Bake – Piedmont Biofarm swiss chard with local eggs and cheddar – delicious! ($5.75)

The Best Collards Ever : ) – this special batch of collards were prepared with a little sweet potato and light tomato and a touch of olive oil.  Hurry in if you’d like some ($5)

Our Bakery Corner is almost depleted!  We are all thrilled at how much positive responsive we’ve had to Judy’s baked goods, Joan’s cookies and the lovely Olivia’s chocolates!
