John and Alan have roasted a huge pork shoulder straight from Bobby Tucker at Okfuskee Farm.  It is moist, delicious and NOT SPICY : )  i know, i know – some of you like it hot and Chile Shack John has been feeding that monster – however there are those of us interested in a more subtle seasoning and today is the day.  for our caliente customers fear not – John is dreaming up a spicy shing ding.

Okfuskee Farm Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder - a slow overnight roast on this excellent local pork seasoned with a few root veggies and a drop of Benjamin Vineyards white wine.

  • Pork Pita Sandwich with your choice of three toppings $9.50
  • Pork Platter – sliced pork roast with braised cabbage $13.50

Batsaria (Cornmeal Field Greens Pie) – A variety of mixed local braising greens (plenty from our friend Bill Dow!) that includes beet greens, tatsoi, spring rabe and a good amount of swiss chard tossed with a little Kasseri and feta and fresh dill from Susan Harris’s garden ($6)

Braised Local Cabbage – tis the season and everyone has these lovely HUGE cabbages – come enjoy this version featuring a little carrot and Screech Owl tomatoes ($6 Full  $4 half)

John’s Favorite Chicken Salad -homemade chicken salad with a good amount of shredded carrot and celery served on a mini croissant  (1 sandwich $4.25  2 sandwiches $7.50  enjoy a side salad for $3 more)

Zucchini Cream Soup with a touch of curry – Alan’s own creation and it was a big hit yesterday afternoon when it was finally ready.  It’s even better this morning ($3)

Chicken Tortilla Soup – our homemade chicken broth soup filled with vibrant veggies and shredded boiled chicken with a touch of fresh local tomatoes and light spices.  Topped with crispy fried corn tortilla strips ($4)

Greek Chicken Soup (Avgolemono) – another batch (and this is a great one!) our homemade chicken broth and orzo soup finished with local eggs and fresh lemon juice ($3)
