It’s good times for all music lovers and campers as today starts the Shakori Grassroots Music Festival.  Come by and pick up snacks to take with you !  For those of us stuck here working : 0  Alan, Kelly and I are cooking up a storm for you.  Since the weather is playing tricks we are focusing on some warm nutritious soups for everyone.  We also got some more eggplant (but here’s your warning …. the eggplants are getting a little scarce!) and are whipping up moussaka!  I think we need some kinda of chocolate dessert – so if anyone has any great ideas for a dark chocolate dessert that I could pass off as healthy … gimme a call.

Moussaka (after 11.30a) – Smith Angus ground beef, Piedmont Biofarm begged for eggplant and a rich bechamel. ($8)

Sweet Potato Carrot Soup – vegan veggie soup that you can make creamier with a dollop of yogurt ($3)

Alan’s (not greek : ) Real Chicken Soup – beautiful clear organic chicken broth and pieces of chicken with lots of veggies and brown rice – gluten free : )($4)

Ang’s (but Alan made it) Greek Chicken Soup (Avgolemono) – broth and orzo soup finished with local eggs and fresh lemon juice ($3)

Potato Leek Gratin – Piedmont Biofarm leeks (thanks doug!) with thinly sliced potatoes, cream and cheddar cheese ($5)

Greens Gratin – Rapini greens from Bill Dow’s farm mixed with some of the gratin cheesy creamy stuff.  it smells awesome ($5)

Roasted Organic Chicken – local organic chickens doused in lemon juice and greek spices then baked till golden (see menu)

FROZEN YOGURT – our thick greek yogurt, Busy Bee Farm honey and …..

LATER TONIGHT …. roasted leg of lamb, Gluten free mousska and for our friend Samantha, a veggie moussaka : )
