Some more rain this morning …. just makes me smile thinking of all the lovely greens thriving in our farmers fields.  Plus the trees at my home are blowing kisses they’re so happy for some rain.  Last night went great at Mark and Carol Hewitt’s home with our joint Chamber of Commerce “After Hours”.  What’s not to love?  Mary from Chatham Marketplace serving some excellent beers and wines, Mark’s amazing pottery lining the walls of his barn …. and of course some pretty darn good munchies from our kitchen.  So back to you and today, here’s what we have cooking for you …

Moussaka – Piedmont Biofarm eggplant, Murray Cohen ground beef and a decadent bechamel by Alan.  tasty!  ($8 w/dressed greens)

Vegetarian Moussaka – Same as above with no meat and an added layer of veggies, this time Ayrshire Farms cherry tomatoes and button mushrooms. ($8 w/ dressed greens)

Alan’s Chicken Almond Stir Fry with Lundberg Wild Rice Blend – woowhooo is all i can say, Alan has finely chopped lots of veggies and chicken breasts and mixed with salt, pepper and garlic and a touch of tamarind.  ($5)

3 SOUPS today !!

Greek Chicken Soup (Avgolemono) – everyone’s favorite organic homemade chicken broth and orzo soup finished with local eggs and fresh lemon juice. ($3)

Beef Green Chile Stew – Local green chiles, local stew beef, organic carrots, potatoes, black beans and super sweet local non GMO organic silver corn. ($4)

Curry Beef Veggie Soup – Smith Angus stew beef, veggies and a light curry seasoning.  ($3)

FROZEN YOGURT – our thick greek yogurt, Busy Bee Farm honey and …

local FIGS and orange zest

later today Josie and I will whip up my personal fav … strawberry super dark choc chip !
