another great day in the kitchen. so yesterday we were treated to Katie (Bennett Farming) baking for us – and she made a delicious key lime pie! I am keeping my eye on this wonderful girl … her baking skills are outta site! then today started with a call from Ferrell (Dutch Buffalo Farm) with tomatoes …. we received beautiful last of the season nasturtiums from Daryl (Aryshire Farm) …. Ashely from next door dropped off organic a strange but lovely looking yellow squash which we will be experimenting with soon. It is good to be Angelina’s Kitchen – the connect with the farmers is one of the biggest perks. get out there today and connect with our wonderful farmers – they’ll be at Ferrington Farmer’s market today – our Pittsboro farmer’s market thursday and up at Carolina Brewery on Saturday.

Willette and John’s Amazing Baked Mashed Potatoes – spuds from Rocky River farm decadently prepared by both Willette and her evil step-dad John. Cream cheese, half and half and Monterrey jack cheese all have made their way into these special mashed. As a side note ,… they were going to be served with green chile meatloaf but unfortunately the little meatloaves did not pass the Ang inspection and they are off to feed our furry 4 legged friends. mashed alone $3.50 .. served with a side salad $6.
