Friday the 13th!  need some plans for this evening?  How about a trip to the City Tap to support a fundraiser party for the Documentary Film Bringing It Home.  Entry includes a sandwich and a drink – plus there will be a raffle for cool hemp products and a silent auction.  6pm …. bring a friend and your dance shoes! Zambamboogee will be the live band with our very own Scotty Young !!!!

Our kitchen news includes a great cold carrot soup (with super fresh sweet carrots from Caliburn Farms) – super tasty and great for you!  you can even do a cold leek/cold carrot soup mix (which I am having as I type  it’s so delicious!

yes – John has gone out of his way to bring you the best possible taco salad.  Today’s filling choices are:

Brisket – $8 Ground beef and beans – $7.50  Vegetarian Spicy Beans $7

Your choice of salsas .. Tomatillo Salsa (from Bennett Farming) or Salsa Fresca (local tomato and cilantro)

Slow Roasted Beef Brisket Pita Sandwich – farmhand foods Beef Brisket slow roasted with tomato and some onion served on a grilled pita with your choice of three toppings $8

RICE BOWL – our brown rice topped with your choice of any or all of the following   ($7 veg only $8 with meat)  All rice toppings are Gluten Free!

  • Green Chile Beef Stew – our signature made from scratch soup – local beef bones for the broth, local stew beef, local roasted green chiles and some veggies.
  • Lentils – our signature made from scratch lentil soup made with extra grated carrots and lots of turmeric – good for your body and your taste buds!
  • Farm hand Foods Beef Brisket – Farmhand Foods beef brisket slow roasted with a touch of tomato and garlic
  • Greens Bake – an excellent blend of local dark greens (swiss chard, parsley, spinach) mixed with local eggs, some ricotta and feta and grated carrots.  A great way to get your daily dose of greens!

Green Chile Beef Stew – our signature made from scratch soup – local beef bones for the broth, local stew beef, local roasted green chiles and some veggies $5

Avgolemono (Greek Chicken Soup) – our homemade chicken broth with orzo and chicken, this soup is finished with local eggs and fresh lemon juice which gives it a creamy texture with no milk! $4

Lentil Soup – our signature made from scratch lentil soup made with extra grated carrots and lots of turmeric – good for your body and your taste buds! $3.25

Vichyssoise (cold potato leek soup) – our vegetarian version of a fabulous cold leek and potato soup.  The great news?  It’s friggin 99% Chatham County local!!!!!  Judy Hogan’s leeks with Forever Green Farm coroalla potatoes.  I am seriously thrilled we can make such delicious food within such a tight radius of our shop  our local farmers ROCK!  Served as is or ask for a dollop of greek yogurt if you like $5 cup

Cold Carrot Soup – Enjoy just harvested carrots from Caliburn Farm, blended with vegetable broth.  Served solo or you can mix with the Cold Leek Soup  $5 cup  ask for a dollop of yogurt to “tang it up”
