Happy 2012 everyone!

Chile Shack John and I enjoyed our week off and were able to include some r&r time, some play time and some long overdue project time.  Though I loved having some time off – I did miss the shop and our community and am super happy to be here today!  Not much time for chit chat as we are busy busy busy getting everything ready for you today : )  As a quick side note – we did score some amazing tomatoes from Screech Owl.  One bite and you’re hooked!  Today enjoy them on your salad or sandwich gratis before the extra charge kicks in!

Slow Roasted Beef Brisket Pita Sandwich – Farmhand Foods (Cheryl and Bernie Pryor Farm) beef brisket on a grilled pita with your choice of three toppings $7.50

RICE BOWL – our brown rice topped with your choice or any or all of the following: ($6.75 veg only $8 with meat)  all our rice toppings are gluten free

• Green Chile Beef Stew – Smith Angus Farm stew beef, Screech Owl hot green chiles, homemade beef broth, lots of veggies.
• Lentils – Lentils, turmeric, carrots and a good dose of garlic.  Add to any dish!
• Braised Collards – a blend of our neighbor (Beth and Mike Wilson) and Screech Owl collards cooked with olive oil, Rocky River Farm carrots and Screech Owl tomatoes – mmmmmm
• Slow Roasted Beef Shoulder – another delicious slow roasted beef shoulder from Smith Angus Farm

Amazing Apple Cake – Judy Hogan’s recipe, Okfuskee Farm grown and milled rye flour!, Olivia’s eggs, homeland creamery butter and a good dose of walnuts, currants, raisins and golden raisins – this is one of the healthiest delicious cakes around and chock full of Chatham County goodness!  $2.50 slice / $12 cake

Olive Oil Brownies! – dark chocolate, milk chocolate and olive oil – what’s not to luv? ($1.50)
