My favorite morning?  when Chile Shack John, Maria and I are all in the kitchen kicking some tush and cooking our hearts out!  Today we each bring our own flare to our farmers tasty tidbots.  Maria bringing the green chile stew on, John hooking us up with spicy pinto beans with a strong kick! and Ang bringing up the rear with beet greens and a HUGE batch of greens bake!  This time of year the dark leafy greens abound and I LOVE IT!  get in on this action – trust me you’ll be sad when they’re done for the season.  And everyone do th weather dance and make sure the temps stay above hard freeze (stay in the 30’s) … all those sweet fab strawberries are naked and need the love.

Slow Roast Beef Brisket – Smith Angus Farm beef brisket slow roasted with Screech owl tomatoes and onion served on a  grilled pita with your choice of three toppings $8

Chile Shack John’s TACO SALAD! – John poured his heart into cooking the beans and meat for this salad! (very cute to watch)  The meat topping is Smith Angus Farm stew beef cooked with Screech Owl chiles and tomatoes.  The spicy pinto beans were cooked with Screech’s chiles and tomatoes and John’s secret vegan spice blend.  Served in a large flour tortilla with your choice of spicy ranch or house dressing, lots of salad, tomato, onion and cheese upon request.  $8 veg only  $8.75 with meat

later today – Sweet Potato Shepard’s Pie (as fast as Murray can get here and we can cook up his meat!)

RICE BOWL – our brown rice topped with your choice or any or all of the following: ($6.75 veg only $8 with meat)  all our rice toppings are gluten free

  • Greens Bake – mmmm the best batch yet!  full of beet greens, swiss chard, parsley, leeks and spring onions – thanks in large part to Piedmont Biofarm and Wanda and Marty!
  • Steamed Beet Greens – one for the cook, one for the customers … hurry in if you’d like a serving of my personal favorite green : )

Olive Oil Brownies! – dark chocolate, milk chocolate and olive oil – what’s not to luv? ($1.50)
